The G. N. Patterson Lecture Series:
On the occasion of Prof. Gordon N. Patterson's retirement in 1974, the G. N. Patterson Lecture Series was established in honour of Prof. Patterson, who was the founder and first Director of UTIAS . The lectures are delivered by distinguished Ph.D. graduates of UTIAS . Recent Lecturers include:

The G. N. Patterson Award:

The I. I. Glass Memorial Lecture Series:
In honour of the Late Professor Irvine I. Glass, a Memorial Lecture series has been established at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies. Professor Glass joined the Institute in the 1940's, first as a student, and later as a professor. His research contributions in the field of compressible gasdynamics and shock waves, have received worldwide recognition. Lecturers are individuals with distinguished accomplishments in a variety of careers. Recent Lecturers include:

The Etkin Medal:
Through a donation by Prof. Bernard Etkin, the Etkin Medal was established and is presented annually to a UTIAS graduate student in recognition of excellent performance in flight mechanics. Recent recipients include:
